Location Location Location

So I was sat watching one of my favourite programmes last night, and Kirstie Allsop walks into the lounge of a lovely little house in Maidstone and they all look straight at the wall mural - as did I, as Printed Space produced it for the owner of the house! It really took me by suprise! I remember doing the artwork well as the customer was very particular about how the tree should be positioned under the stairs.

I was really pleased to hear that the couple viewing the property loved the photographic mural and they had actually been thinking of putting a similar style wallpaper up anyway - great news, as murals are often quite a personalised statement in your home.

Here is a snippet from the show...

Practical Decoration

The owners of a Holiday-Let property in London's SE16 came to us with their ideas for decorating the apartment to create an impact but also offer practical information for guests.

The 2 resulting wallpapers looked stunning - a TFL Tube Map printed onto our Crystal laminated wallpaper for the lounge wall and an A-Z "Tourist" street map for the master bedroom, also printed onto our Crystal wall covering.

Visit http://www.myukflats.com/ to view the apartment :

"The apartment is very colourful, and features London underground and touristic map wall murals, according to the pop britannia style throughout the apartment. Original artwork has been especially designed for this apartment, particularly the Tower Bridge steel sculpture at the entrance."

Plane Paper Takes Off

We have quite a name for ourselves now in the print industry that if you have an unusual print request - then come to Printed Space and we will create something for you specifically to meet your requirements.

This was the case last year when we were approached by Jet2.com who needed a digitally printed wallpaper that satisfied the strict Aviation fire regulations.

We created Plane Paper - so now aircraft can be decorated with digitally printed wallpaper. Jet2.com decided to use it to brighten up the on board toilets and here is the result! The wallpaper has had a great response from passengers - if not giving them a little shock as they open the door!

The images depict scenes that are synonymous with great holidays, they look like photos you could be taking when Jet2 fly you to your destination - kids playing on the beach, surfers, skiers, underwater snorkeling shots - Jet2 are really conveying the fun you are going to be having when you step off their plane!

We have produced wallpaper now for their 737 and 757 aircrafts, so you will most likely see the artwork if flying with Jet2.com this year. Send us a photo of you stood in front of one of the murals to receive a free canvas using one of your own holiday snaps or a 15% discount on a printed roller blind or wallpaper for your home!

Doodle Wall - The Decorative White Board

We have just installed this "Doodle Wall" for our Sales team at Printed Space.

Fed up with boring white boards around the office we developed a wallpaper that can have any image printed onto it, but the surface can be written on with dry wipe marker pens and easily wiped off.

This gives our wall space a very practical use but also provides a decorative feature in the office.

Doodle Wall is a great idea to have in your kitchen to replace the shopping lists on boring chalkboards, or in kids rooms - as if they need an excuse to draw on their walls!

Doodle Wall costs £80.00 per square metre (+vat), and can have any image, vector design or illustration printed onto it.

Funky Fish and Chip Shop

Our local customers may have spotted this mural we installed in a Heysham Fish and Chip shop!

John Wild, new owner of Tarnbrook Chippy, loves the paintings produced by local artist Chas Jacobs. They really capture the local area and the bright colours are fantastic. He had seen a few similar murals around the Morecambe area so approached us to see if we could provide one that would be suitable for a kitchen environment, on a wipeable wallpaper finish.

We reproduced one of Chas Jacobs iconic images, printing onto a laminated vinyl that will withstand oil and food splashes, and that is durable enough when customers lean against it. The mural gives a beautiful backdrop to the shop and really makes it stand out from the local competition.

Pop in to have a look next time you are in the area - and remember to treat yourself to one of John's famous Cumberland sausages!!

Magnetic Map Wallpaper

Here is a Magnetic Map wallpaper we produced for a London based Estate Agent Ellis & Co Willesden Green office last week.

First, our magnet receptive liner was applied to a board raised off the wall, then the tailor made wallpaper was adhered on top of the liner. The estate agent can now position small house shaped magnets where he has properties for sale or rent.

To create the wallpaper we used an A-Z map and then our artwork department converted it to match the agents brand colours. This was then printed onto our durable Smooth wall covering that has a slight satin sheen to it, this enhances the colours of the map.

Our magnet receptive liner can be used with any of our bespoke wallpapers, so any image can be applied on top of it. We can create printed magnets also. Another top seller for Magnetic Walls is a world map or British Isles map both for homes, offices and educational facilities. Customers can then apply magnets to their map on places such as famous landmarks, places they have visited, where family members live, historical locations etc.

Prices for Magnetic Walls start at £70.00 per square metre + vat.
Prices for Magnetic Liner only when sold separately £35.00 + vat

Room with a View (a 360 view actually!)

A wallpaper concept that is becoming increasingly popular is the "360 degree view".

Here is an amazing example of one we installed this month. Our client's teenage son wanted a view of New York from his bed - so that's exactly what we gave him! We got in touch with a New York location scout who had imagery he had taken from the observation deck of the Empire State Building for the King Kong film. He created a multi shot panoramic, stitching a number of photos together to create a seamless 360 view, which we then cropped and manipulated to suit all 4 walls of the bedroom.

We made a matching motorised blackout roller blind for the window so his "view" was uninterrupted on that wall.

Look out for more 360 panoramic images to choose from in our new gallery launching very soon. We will have options that can be used across the floor and up and around your walls!

Printed Space Wins Award for Creativity

Printed Space won the "Creative Business of the Year" award at Friday nights BIBAs hosted by NW Chamber of Commerce. We are so proud of our team, and the award shows how much hard work they have put in to creating the perfect products for our client's needs. In his acceptance speech, Director Kristian Holt thanked the judges for recognising our talent, but made the observation that a lot of our work currently is in London and the South, and how nice it would be to do some work locally in Lancashire - we will have to work out some Northern discount based on postcode area!!
Keep up the good work team!

Huge London A-Z map wallpaper

After the Royal National Hotel , our installation team travelled to Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects office to fit this 6m wide x 4m high wallpaper featuring a street map of London. The result was this striking feature wall in their foyer. They think it looks fantastic - and we have to agree!
