A 360degree Gigapan panorama of Heathrow Airport was printed over 120 square metres of wallpaper for NATS.
NATS provides air traffic control services to aircraft flying in UK airspace, and over the eastern part of the North Atlantic. We installed this amazing mural in their windowless back up control tower near Heathrow.
Top music acts have also taken advantage of Dickies unique brand image: Justin Timberlake, Avril Lavigne, TLC, Limp Bizkit, Westlife and Madonna are just a few of the performers who have worn Dickies clothing on stage.
All Dickies products carry the distinctive Dickies logo, a graphic that has had enormous exposure over the years. Dickies garments have appeared in a large number of Hollywood movies including Herbie: Fully Loaded, Dukes of Hazzard and The Break-up starring Jennifer Aniston. But Dickies movie career goes back even further still, to the classic film From Here to Eternity, starring Frank Sinatra.
With a history like this you want to celebrate it and Dickies UK Ltd came up with the perfect way of sharing such an interesting story. A timeline graphic wall. Once the idea was agreed they cast around looking for a company who would deliver to their own uncompromising standards. That's when they Printed Space. Of course, we used our heavy duty wallpaper - what else? The timeline graphic which they provided had a detailed the history of the company and included several iconic images of the clothing they had produced over the decades. They wanted tough but pin-sharp and that's what we delivered.
Our crystal substrate was decided upon as the wallpaper was to decorate a corridor which was a heavy traffic area and therefore the paper needed a matt laminate to withstand any scratches or scrapes.
Our studio put the timeline together, it was a dream to work on and we were able to produce the whole thing within a week - bang on deadline.
The Brand Manager of Dickies was kind enough to email us and send a photograph saying, “Just wanted to thank you on a fantastic product and quick turn around, it looks great on the wall, a real wow factor!”
This new product is the worlds first specially designed wallcovering for the airline industry, created in Printed Space's R & D Department.
This is just one of the many new products about to be launched from our prolific R & D team.
So watch this space.
Location : Stores Throughout the UK
Concept : Client wanted a range of huge canvases measuring over 200cm to display in their concessions. The majority of them have gone into their store within Selfridges on Oxford Street, London. They are ordering on a regular basis from us.
Concept This London-based agency used the corporate graphics that we printed for them onto our Tactile Wallpaper - lovely linen finish. Fitted expertly by our installation team! For more images of MediaVest's re-fit see flickr.
Client The Kyte Group Location London
Concept The CEO of the company had moved office into the center of the building and as such had no window. He wanted a London skyline mural, but we suggested maybe having a window frame superimposed to make it look realistic. He was blown away by the finished result and even gave our fitters a tip!
You can have any Skyline with any style of window frame. It's that bespoke.
Client Bar 51
Concept The client wanted something different to just a plain map and as Chichester has such a long history, they decided on a vintage map of the local area. We found a old map of the town and manipulated the image to match the colour to the decor. After we installed it, it has become the talking point of the area.
Client Surbiton Fitness Club
Location Surbiton, Surrey
Concept The new Health and Fitness club was decorated using their corporate graphics. The background to the graphics had to match the paint colour of all the other walls in the club. Fortunately we were able to install the wallpaper when the gym was empty, although some of our team could do with using the treadmill.
Our client wanted a New York cityscape to match the new decor in their kitchen and seating area along with the famous lyrics of the song by Frank Sinatra. A colour photo was converted to black and white and then given a tint to match the colour scheme in the room.
Location Strand, London
Concept Complete office refit to match new furniture. Each image was turned into a duotone to match their corporate colours. Images were chosen to correspond to the types of business each office are involved in. The spot wall shown on this page is actually a glass panel that we covered with laminated wallpaper. The idea for the spots is for each employee to doodle a drawing and a bit of information about themselves, we have provided pre cut vinyl circles to cover over existing doodles when necessary.
Client Trafalgar Estate Agents
Location : Ilford, Essex
Concept : Our client saw a custom map we did at another Estate Agency and was amazed we could print one of his catchment area to an exact wall size and change the colours to match their website and branding. He then realised we could print photographic images so asked us to source something that subtly tied in with their name resulting in a lion image!
Client Preston North End Football Club
Concept Preston North End Football Club recently opened the new Tom Finney Stand at its ground and had one of the Executive Boxes named after him and wanted an iconic picture of him sliding in the water at the Wembley Cup Final. We installed the wallpaper and Sir Tom Finney himself came and officially opened the stand and executive boxes.
Concept The company was moving to new offices and wanted to use a London skyline image to make a feature in the main office. We also gave each of the toilet cubicles a scenic backdrop. The company has gone on to order several large canvases from us, featuring skyline images of the various cities where they have branches. They also commissioned us to print and frame a number of high gloss photos for their boardroom which we framed using modern spacer frames which give a gap between the print and the glass. Oh, and after this photo was taken we returned to fill in the "missing" parts of the image for the doors.
Client Residential Customer
Location Holland Park, London
Concept Clients frequently need wallpapers for bathrooms, kitchens and high traffic commercial areas, so we researched over-laminates that would adhere to our wallpapers. This is the first laminated wallpaper job we installed as a result.
Concept: Cake PR used a collage of their press images to decorate a wall in their boardroom. The collage featured images of companies they work for and other famous clients. Cake PR ordered a wallpaper from us back in January 2006 for their client Reebok – our first ever wallpaper order! They have used us for a number of projects since and have enquired over the years about getting something done for themselves. They finally settled on this feature for their own boardroom.
The Client wanted a centre-piece for its new 'in-running' betting experience and wanted a Las Vegas sports-book operations look. They decided on this iconic picture of Muhammad Ali.
The only thing was, they wanted it 14' x 6'. We were able not only to print such a large canvas but we also made the frame in our studio in Morecambe and built and erected the frame on-site.
As you can see the effect was tremendous and a talking point for everyone who came into the room.
Client: City Bunker
Concept: New golf bar wanted its clients to feel they were stepping into a forest when they entered the golf simulators. We sourced a wallpaper with a texture to it that looked like a golf ball. We also gave the toilets, changing rooms and shower cubicles a waterfall backdrop on waterproof vinyl.
Concept: New sports, performance and prestige car showroom used images from a photoshoot to enhance their wall space with wallpaper. The wallpaper was pasted onto raised areas to give the appearance of large pieces of art. The main wall was over 600cm wide. Managing Director Ash Ellahi gave us a copy of his signature which we scanned in and superimposed onto a photo of his Mercedes for one of the pieces in his office.
Concept: Recent installation projects at the Avalon Public House and Garden in London. Named after the mythical island in the legend of King Arthur the new wallpaper design encompasses all the iconic imagery of 900 years ago.
Concept: A New branch of Estate Agents wanted a local city image to fill the main wall of the office. They wanted a map of their catchment area and printed to match the company corporate colours. The directors were so pleased with the result, they are going to have the same concept repeated in their other branches.
Client: 60 Min Makeover
Location: Throughout the UK
Concept: We have supplied our custom products to over TV 50 makeovers. Including photographic wallpaper, roller blinds, canvas and fine art prints. The majority of images we have printed have been found by the show's designers on istockphoto.com. The Tokyo cityscape has probably generated the most interest, and has led to several orders – including ones where customers wanted a different city behind the window.
Location Millenium Bridge, London
Concept Mastercard used PR agency Weber Shandwick to come up with a promotion to launch their new Paypass payment system. It was decided to cover the Millennium bridge in money, and surrounding pavements with individual coins. We were approached to design a product that could be easily installed and then removed later the same day, that would be slip resistant, come in 4m widths to suit the width of the bridge without joins and for the finish to be of photographic quality. The first Digital Flooring was created. The promotion went on to be nominated for and win a number of awards.
Pictures of the bridge were seen around the world on various news websites, TV news and was featured in many newspapers including The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Independent.
The print was created from scans of several boards with notes and coins glued to them. Around £1,200 worth of notes and coins were used to create the boards – the money was not reusable, so had to be framed up as pieces of art!
